LED Cabinet Color Matching After Module Replacement
Why cabinet-to-cabinet color matching matters
An LED wall can show mismatched brightness or color after a cabinet or module replacement. Correct diagnosis separates physical module variation, coefficient mismatch, changed positions, thermal drift and signal/content settings.

Cabinet Color Matching: Diagnostic Matrix
The table below is a selection and verification framework, not a fixed product BOM or a guarantee of compatibility. Confirm the proposed configuration and project conditions before final approval.
| Observed symptom | Possible cause | Test before adjustment |
|---|---|---|
| One cabinet looks warmer | Different calibration coefficients or device batch | Check coefficient records and physical position |
| Visible vertical seam | Brightness/color mismatch or mechanical alignment | Separate optical measurement from joint geometry |
| Mismatch only at low brightness | Driver behavior or dark-gray calibration | Use low-gray test patterns |
| Change after replacement | Incorrect coefficient recovery or cabinet location | Restore verified mapping and calibrate as needed |

Diagnose the pattern first
Check whether the mismatch follows one module, an entire cabinet or a signal path. Use a neutral test pattern at known brightness, and document photos and installation conditions before recalibration.
Review module position and matching data
Some NovaStar-based JYVISIONS systems use calibration coefficients stored in module Flash, with module identifiers and mapping assisting restoration. Whole-screen factory calibration for a fixed-size installation may require the numbered modules to return to their assigned positions.
Replacing a module without losing uniformity
Back up the existing configuration and calibration database; use the approved Flash/coefficient recovery procedure for the actual receiver and calibration setup.
Correct coefficient recovery can help restore matching, but arbitrary swaps are not guaranteed to be visually identical.
For detailed configuration and compatibility, consult the relevant linked technical guide listed in the internal-link implementation table.

When to recalibrate
If the replacement still differs after mapping, settings and coefficient checks, inspect hardware tolerances, ambient conditions and calibration validity. Onsite recalibration may be necessary. IP05 provides the full factory-versus-field calibration principles.
Practical selection checklist
Confirm the buyer’s purpose, screen dimensions and effective pixel count where applicable, required input/management features, environmental conditions, and the exact system-level performance that will be accepted at handover.
Avoid treating model names or a supplier’s catalog rating as blanket compatibility or guaranteed field results.

Factory calibration at module, cabinet and full-screen scale
JYVISIONS Jade COB supports module-level calibration, cabinet-level calibration and factory full-screen calibration.
For a fixed-size project, the factory can assemble the complete screen in its final dimensions and perform whole-screen brightness and chromaticity calibration. This can optimize uniformity for that mapped configuration, while module/cabinet correction may offer more flexibility during installation and service.
