LED Power & Operating Cost Calculator

Estimate LED display load, annual energy use and electricity cost from your screen size and the actual average and maximum power-density figures for the selected LED configuration.

No universal power assumption: LED power varies by product architecture, brightness setting, content, design and environment. Enter the average and maximum W/m² values from the product datasheet or project quotation rather than using a generic industry number.

What Is Included — and What Is Not

The calculation uses the LED display area and the power-density values you enter. It does not automatically add HVAC, processors, network equipment, audio, lighting or other project loads.

OutputFormula
Areascreen width × screen height, converted internally to m²
Average LED loadarea (m²) × average W/m² ÷ 1000
Maximum LED loadarea (m²) × maximum W/m² ÷ 1000
Annual energyaverage load (kW) × hours/day × days/year
Annual electricity costannual kWh × electricity price/kWh

Maximum load is useful for electrical-design discussion; operating energy should be based on a realistic average-power assumption for the selected configuration and use pattern.

Use the Result as a Planning Input

Power and energy are part of the project, not the whole project. Electrical distribution, breaker/circuit design, heat removal, ventilation, redundancy and local code requirements still need qualified engineering review.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the calculator ask me to enter average and maximum W/m²?

Because LED displays do not have one universal power figure. Product architecture, brightness, content and operating conditions can materially change power use.

Should I size electrical infrastructure from average power?

No. Do not use this operating-cost estimate as a substitute for electrical design. Electrical infrastructure should be checked against the project’s documented maximum load, power architecture, local code and engineering requirements.

Does this estimate include air-conditioning or ventilation?

No. It estimates the LED display load only. HVAC and other system loads depend on the site and must be evaluated separately.

Can I compare two LED products with this tool?

Yes, if you use verified average and maximum W/m² figures for each configuration and keep the screen area, operating schedule and electricity tariff consistent.

Need a Project Power Schedule?

Send JYVISIONS the screen size, product or pitch option, brightness requirement, operating schedule and site electrical conditions. We can provide project-specific load information for engineering review.
