LED Receiving Card Configuration and Cabinet Mapping
How LED receiving-card configuration and mapping work
LED cabinet mapping identifies the physical order and logical pixel coordinates of receiver-card outputs. Wrong mapping can produce scrambled cabinet order, shifted image regions or duplicated content even when the cabinets themselves are functional.

Receiving Card Mapping Workflow
The table below is a selection and verification framework, not a fixed product BOM or a guarantee of compatibility. Confirm the proposed configuration and project conditions before final approval.
| Step | Engineering input | Expected output |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Define canvas | Native resolution and target dimensions | Correct pixel coordinate space |
| 2. Confirm cabinets | Cabinet/module resolution and arrangement | Grid with physical orientation |
| 3. Assign cards | Receiver load and port distribution | Port/card mapping without overflow |
| 4. Validate | Test patterns, position numbers and calibration | Verified seams, orientation and coefficient state |

Before opening controller software
Record cabinet dimensions in pixels, orientation, cable route, sending-port assignments, receiver-card model and backup configuration. Preserve the original known-working configuration file and obtain permission to change settings.
Map signal flow, not just physical cabinet positions
Draw the actual route from sender outputs to each receiving-card network input; then align the logical cabinet grid with the routing order. Avoid relying on visual cabinet order where signal cables follow a different route.
Software examples and version handling
NovaStar NovaLCT, Colorlight iSet and Huidu system tools may provide mapping/configuration features for compatible hardware.
Menu labels, supported files and workflows vary by software version; consult the matching official manual instead of using instructions intended for another model.
For detailed configuration and compatibility, consult the relevant linked technical guide listed in the internal-link implementation table.
Common symptoms and safe first checks
A wrong RCFG/module configuration, output-port assignment, cabling fault or wrong cabinet coordinate can produce similar symptoms. Before rewriting receiver parameters, compare the as-built diagram and saved backup file, then make reversible changes one at a time.
Discuss Your LED Display Configuration
Share requirements, screen dimensions, viewing conditions and project timing.
Verification and recovery
Test full-resolution patterns, individual cabinet identity, color sequence and fallback configuration. Document the approved final map for maintenance and support.
Practical selection checklist
Confirm the buyer’s purpose, screen dimensions and effective pixel count where applicable, required input/management features, environmental conditions, and the exact system-level performance that will be accepted at handover. Avoid treating model names or a supplier’s catalog rating as blanket compatibility or guaranteed field results.
