LED Screen Size, Resolution & Pixel Count Calculator

Convert between physical LED screen size, pixel pitch and native resolution. Choose the calculation that matches the information you already know.

Calculate Your LED Screen Geometry

Dimension unit
Calculation mode
Screen width (m)
Screen height (m)
Pixel pitch (mm)
Important: This calculator performs geometry and pixel-count math. Real LED cabinets and modules use discrete dimensions, so the final screen size or resolution may need to be adjusted to fit a buildable cabinet/module layout.

How the Calculation Works

TaskFormula
Native horizontal pixelsscreen width converted to mm ÷ pixel pitch (mm)
Native vertical pixelsscreen height converted to mm ÷ pixel pitch (mm)
Required screen widthhorizontal pixels × pixel pitch (mm), then converted to the selected display unit
Implied pixel pitchscreen dimension converted to mm ÷ pixels on that dimension

If the horizontal and vertical implied pitches differ, the requested physical aspect ratio and pixel canvas are not geometrically consistent at one square-pixel pitch.

What This Tool Does Not Decide

Native resolution is only one part of LED specification. Viewing distance, content detail, brightness, environment, camera use, cabinet layout and budget can all change the best project choice.

For the selection logic behind screen size, aspect ratio and resolution, read the LED Screen Size, Resolution & Aspect Ratio Guide.

If viewing distance and pixel pitch are still undecided, use the LED Pixel Pitch / Viewing Distance Calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does an LED wall need to be exactly 1920×1080 or 3840×2160?

No. Many LED walls use custom native resolutions. A fixed Full HD or 4K canvas can be useful when the content workflow requires it, but custom-size and immersive projects are often designed from the physical space first.

Why can the calculated resolution differ from the final quotation?

LED modules and cabinets have fixed pixel matrices and physical dimensions. The final engineering layout must use buildable module/cabinet combinations, so the exact size or pixel count may be adjusted.

Can I calculate pixel pitch from a required 4K resolution?

Yes. If you know the physical width and horizontal pixel target, the implied pitch is width × 1000 ÷ pixels. The same check should be made vertically.

Is a higher pixel count always better?

No. More pixels can improve detail, but the useful choice depends on viewing distance, content, screen size, environment and budget.
