Kinetic LED Sphere

The JYVISIONS kinetic LED sphere is a telescopic spherical display that changes its physical geometry as part of the visual performance. Software-controlled mechanical movement expands and contracts the sphere, turning the display itself into a moving three-dimensional object rather than a conventional static LED sphere.

The kinetic LED sphere is part of the broader kinetic LED screen family, but it creates movement through a radial spherical structure rather than a flat moving wall.

Telescopic Motion Changes the Sphere Itself

The defining feature is not simply a spherical LED surface. The display uses a motorized telescopic structure so the radius and overall form can change during playback. The current telescopic sphere configuration uses servo motors; this is a product-specific drive choice and should not be generalized to every JYVISIONS kinetic LED system.

The kinetic LED screen guide explains how spherical, telescopic and rotating motion architectures differ.

Software Control and Create Mode

The control interface is designed to let operators set movement and speed for the telescopic structure without writing a motion program from scratch.

The product documentation includes a Create Mode interface and supports operation from a computer or tablet, making it practical to prepare and adjust motion sequences for the installation.

Standard and Custom Sphere Sizes

JYVISIONS currently works with standard sphere diameters including 1.5 m, 2.0 m, 2.5 m and 3.0 m, with other sizes evaluated as custom configurations. Final diameter, resolution, structure and installation method should be confirmed together because changing the physical scale also changes the mechanical and visual design of the system.

Where a Moving Sphere Makes Sense

A kinetic sphere is most useful when the physical transformation is part of the experience: exhibition features, museums, showrooms, experience spaces and other creative installations where a static spherical display would not deliver the intended reveal or movement.

Projects that require real-time interaction or custom creative control can be planned through interactive kinetic LED workflows.

Plan Structure and Motion Together

The supporting structure, service access and full movement envelope need to be considered before the final installation design is frozen. A spherical system that expands and contracts needs clearance around its moving geometry, not only around its static outer dimensions.

Supporting structure, motion clearance and commissioning should be planned through the kinetic LED installation guide.

Discuss Your Kinetic LED Sphere Project

Send the intended sphere diameter, installation location, viewing distance, available structural space, movement concept and project schedule. JYVISIONS can then evaluate the suitable sphere configuration, display resolution, mechanical arrangement and control approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

A kinetic LED sphere is a spherical LED display whose physical geometry changes through motor-driven movement. The JYVISIONS telescopic sphere expands and contracts under software control, so the sphere itself becomes part of the visual performance.
A static LED sphere keeps a fixed physical shape while only the image changes. A kinetic or telescopic LED sphere changes its physical radius or geometry as part of the show, which requires an additional mechanical structure, motion control and clearance planning.
Current standard sphere diameters include 1.5 m, 2.0 m, 2.5 m and 3.0 m. Other sizes can be evaluated as custom configurations. Final diameter, resolution, mechanical structure and installation method should be confirmed together.
The current JYVISIONS telescopic kinetic LED sphere uses servo motors. This is specific to the current sphere architecture and should not be generalized to every kinetic LED product.
